Comments and optional email

When you submit a comment on an article, your display name and comment body are published publicly beside the article. Providing an email address in the comment form is completely optional. If provided, your email address is stored securely in our database for identity verification and anti-spam protection; it is never displayed on the public article page and never shared with third parties.

Do not put private or sensitive personal information in your name or comment text.

Historical newsletter subscribers

Way4U previously offered an email newsletter sign-up form. Records for historical subscribers who registered during that period remain in our database. We do not operate an automated email delivery service or dispatch promotional marketing emails, and subscriber email addresses are never sold, rented, or distributed. Existing historical subscribers may request removal of their email record at any time through our contact page.

Reader accounts, staff sign-in and cookies

Reader accounts use an HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax cookie named way4u_reader to keep you signed in. When you register, we store your name, email, and a secure password hash. Sessions are managed on the server and signing out immediately clears the cookie. Reader account data is used solely for session management and comment identity.

Staff editorial accounts use a separate cookie named way4u_session configured to expire after 30 days. The server stores a hashed session token, staff account identifier, expiry timestamp, and a shortened browser user-agent string.

Third-party image and resource requests

Links to YouTube and social platforms direct you to third-party services with their own privacy policies. Article pages may also request images, avatars, or media from external CDNs or hosting providers. When your browser requests these external assets, your IP address, browser user-agent, and referring page URL are transmitted to the host serving the file. Cloudflare hosting infrastructure also processes standard traffic connection logs to protect and serve the publication.

Our contact page lists the known Way4U channel. It is a public channel, not a confidential support form. Do not post private account or identification details there.
